A poem about trying to have a baby

I wrote this poem while processing our entire baby journey, from trying to conceive, to fertility treatments, to adoption. I hope it brings you a sense of understanding, and knowing you aren’t alone in this journey of trying.

TRYING

Trying. 

Trying to be patient. 

Trying to trust the process. 

Trying to allow time for it all to work out. 

Trying to be at peace. 

Trying to maintain hope. 

Trying to believe in the future. 

Trying to expect. 

Trying to respect. 

Trying to do my part. 

Trying to protect my heart. 

Trying not to rush. 

Trying to make it timely. 

Trying to see. 

Trying to rest. 

Trying to avoid stress with all this trying.

Trying to meet you 

has been the most Trying. 

But I love you so, 

and when you’re ready I’ll be here, 

or at least, I’ll keep Trying.
