Once Upon A Time…
There was a girl named Dannika, who loved books, writing, art, and more. She viewed the world through a sense of constant wonder, ready to explore every door, no matter where it led. She believed that when the world is viewed through the lens of creativity, art, and wonder, it becomes more beautiful. She wanted others to find this wonder, too.

The characters in our story are my favorite
Hello!
My name is Dannika, and I’m an author, artist, and former teacher! I am a Creative helping others find their own inner Creative and live their best life. I wholeheartedly believe that everyone is an artist of some kind, and that everyone has a story to tell. My goal is to help draw out that artist, and help tell those stories. I firmly believe that when we can live freely and authentically, we not only enjoy life more, but can also be a part of changing the world for the better! I wanted to help others find their version of creativity, and inspire them with my art, as well! I once wrote a poem called, “Oh, To Be A Person.” In this poem, I wrote a line that I realized sums up my life and goals rather well:
“I want to inhale wonder and exhale inspiration.”
This describes myself, and the goals I have, quite well. I want to live in a constant state of curiosity, gratitude, and wonder. When I can see the beauty in the small moments and details, I live a more fulfilled life. I want to inhale wonder! But I also want to share it. I want to inspire others to find beauty in the simple and small moments of their life, discover how they are creative themselves, enable them to identify their own emotions and utilize that, and how to create the life they want like a work of art. I want to exhale inspiration!
Allow Me To Introduce Myself
I am an author, artist, teacher, and creator who has been writing and creating since childhood. I am married to an amazing author named Josh Roggie, and we live in Colorado with our two adorable cats, Shadow and Kaladin! I am a PROUD Queer woman, and I am obsessed with reading and coffee. Obsessed isn’t fair… I actually can’t survive without coffee, and a day without reading is wasted. I love painting and working in other art mediums, I adore teaching, and I LOVE writing!
In my “spare” time, I enjoy hiking with my husband when he chooses hikes that won’t kill me, dancing, singing, reading, and perusing bookshops and coffeeshops! Fun fact: anytime we travel, Josh and I do our best to try at LEAST one local coffee shop in that area! Trust me, coffee is an art form. I do some public speaking, and have even been on camera several times! I have a book of poetry published on Amazon as an e-book, called Travelers, and yes, it’s old and therefore embarrassing. You really probably shouldn’t read it if you want to maintain any amount of respect for me. Hey, such is life! I also have a children’s book that released on August 19, 2025! Everly and the Little Red Door reminds children (and adults) that staying imaginative and curious makes life an adventure, and that when doors appear (opportunities) you simply need to walk through them. Trust me, this is a book you and your kiddos won’t want to miss!

Josh and I have been on a long journey to try to have kids (check out the blog to learn more about that) and we are so excited to be on the journey to adoption! We’re adding a character to our story, and we could not be happier! Don’t worry, I’ll be posting updates on the blog as we continue moving forward to bringing home our dear baby Roggie!
Stories like ours are actually part of what made me realize how much power people really have in their creativity. The more I wrote about, and painted about, our miscarriages and our infertility, the more messages I received from couples talking about how much it helped them to read my words and see these images. Sometimes we don’t realize how much of an impact our stories have, or we think our little version of creating something isn’t significant. I assure you, to someone, it is. Not only is it freeing to others to experience our creativity and vulnerability, but it is freeing to ourselves, as well! Authenticity will always be a part of what I put out into the world, and this is a large part of why.
I’m WAY too eclectic to have just one topic or project. I want to try it all, and write about every moment. This is a part of making life a creative work of art, and the most beautiful story!
Let’s make something beautiful, and write the most enchanting story for our lives… together!
