Dear Baby Roggie- January 2025

By

When we began our journey to have children, I would dream of our child constantly. I began to think of all the things I’d want to say to them about this time of waiting, wanting, wishing, and working to meet them. A couple of years ago, I finally started writing some of it down, and then I began sharing it on social media. If you’d like to go back and see old posts written to our baby, head to my Instagram! Otherwise, you can just start with this one and you’ll get the idea. I’ll be sharing these on here as well, from now on! I hope it inspires you and brings you hope. But mostly… it’s here so I have a place to read our story to my child someday.

Dear Baby Roggie,

It’s been a while, hasn’t it? I’ve been thinking about you non-stop, but writing to you has been difficult. Not having you here in arms has been difficult.

It’s a new year, now! 2025. As everyone ponders their goals and dreams for this new year, my list looks much the same. Sure, there are a few tweaks here and there, but my biggest dream is still you. It has always been you.

The wildest part is that I still believe it will happen. YOU will happen. One day, I’ll be holding you in my arms and singing to you, and remembering the days of missing you like this. If I were using logic, looking at evidence, deducing the odds… hope would be ridiculous. The record so far shows very little chance of ever meeting you… and yet. Here I am. Fully believing it will happen, and quite a bit afraid of that belief and hope. And yet.

I am so excited to meet you! I can’t stop thinking about you! I bought you a new toy today. And for Christmas, your daddy got me a ring, to remind me every day that we believe together. We are waiting for you… not SUPER patiently… or patiently at all. But we are waiting, and we are ready. We are ready.

I can’t wait to know you, little one. I hope I’ll meet you soon!

With all the love in the universe,

Mommy
