Hello everyone! Wow, it has been a while since I’ve posted! A large part of my new job is writing blog posts for someone else, and I’m still looking for that balance of writing for someone else and continuing to write for myself! But hey, we’ll get there!
A while back (a long while back) I ran a contest on my Instagram looking for helping naming a painting of mine and choosing which direction it would be oriented. I promised to feature the winner on my blog! After the winner was chosen, I kept thinking that I wanted to do more than simply mention that she had won… I wanted to help you all get to know her! She is an amazing creator and business woman, and the work she does is beautiful!
Remember, everyone is an artist in their own way. How can I keep demonstrating that to you? Well, by introducing you to more and more “artists,” of course! So I’m beginning a new series: Meet The Artist! This series will be ongoing across all of my platforms, and will be my way of introducing you to all of the different people I come across who are living their best, most creative lives! Perhaps their work will inspire you to find your art, and keep creating!
So without further ado, here is my interview with my contest WINNER, and our very first guest for Meet The Artist: Lindsi Miller!
Hey Lindsi! Tell us a bit about yourself! What do you want people to know about you?
I am Colorado born and raised, where my husband and I of almost 12 years are raising our two daughters (ages 10 & 13). I am also the proud small business owner of my shop Bubbling Beauties BB where I handcraft luxurious bath and body products! I enjoy the outdoors and appreciate the simple things in life!
How did you come up with your idea for the title of this painting? What emotions were behind that? How about the orientation choice?
Serendipity resembles happiness, and this painting exudes happiness to me. It spoke a story of love, appreciation, success, and positivity to me. All things that I strive for in my own life! Looking at this painting gives me a sense of direction and peace, like it was meant for my soul. The orientation I chose just reflected all of the above most, though any orientation would have been perfect!
What is your favorite creative outlet?
Being a small business owner, I create bath and body products by scratch on a regular basis. So, I’d have to say bath art is my favorite! Though I have recently come to love painting as well!
What forms of creativity from OTHERS are you drawn to?
I am naturally a very creative person, so I am literally drawn to ALL types of creativity from others, as I love seeing what others can do! I’ve always been fascinated by realistic hand drawing pictures though!
How do you find creativity in your everyday life?
To be honest, I’m not sure how exactly! My mind is constantly spinning with ideas and it’s just a matter of making those ideas a reality! Pinterest does help when I am drawing a blank sometimes… so the creativity of others is how I find creativity in my own everyday life, I suppose.
I often say that my goal is to help others live their best, most creative life. What does “best, most creative life” mean for you?
I preach self love on the daily, to my customers and followers, and to anyone who will listen! You cannot pour from an empty cup, so taking care of ourselves should be a priority to living our best lives! How do we self love/care? Do anything and everything that brings you happiness, as often as you can! That’s when we can be our most creative, too!
Now for some random, fun questions!
What is your favorite book?
Angela’s Ashes by Frank McCourt
What is your favorite movie/show?
Labyrinth (movie), Game of Thrones (tv)
What is something you find to be unique about yourself?
I am a very empathetic person, to my own fault most times. I don’t come across many other truly empathetic people.
And finally, where can people find you?
